Professionals play Musical Chairs

IMG_1062Their day jobs include hospital administrator and CEGEP teacher, but their love of music has brought them together in the reconstituted group called The Musical Chairs.

February 28, the group performed before an enthusiastic crowd at the Manoir Westmount. It was their first gig since restarting a group formed 25 years ago.

About 60 residents cheered and clapped rhythmically as the band went through a familiar repertoire including Celtic, rock’n’roll, and folk, in English, French and Hebrew.

Musical Chairs members (from left): vocalists Donna Kuzmarov (psychologist counseling McGill University students); Helen Binik (English literature teacher, John Abbott College); Ely Bonder, accordion and vocals (CTV videographer); Stephen Weinstein, guitar and banjo (commercial law); Elliott Shuchat, keyboard and organ (business consultant); and Irwin Kuzmarov, guitar and vocals (director of professional services, Santa Cabrini Hospital).

The group performs benefits and for seniors groups. 514-489-4042.
