Raging Grannies raise voices against Energy East pipeline plan

“We all have an obligation to future generations. Keep the oil in the soil!”

On February 26, the Montreal Raging Grannies sang and presented a manifesto urging Transport Minister Marc Garneau and the federal government to stop subsidizing fossil fuel industries and instead invest much more public money in renewable energy initiatives. The Energy East pipeline project is “a dangerous pipe dream,” say the Grannies.

The Montreal Raging Grannies is a group of activist seniors who write protest songs and sing them in public to promote peace, the environment, and social justice. raginggranniesmontreal.ca, 514-697-4195.
