Norman Cornett to talk about liberation theology

Norman Cornett at the Jazz Festival

Liberation theology became a powerful force in Latin America in which Roman Catholic Church priests and nuns took sides in the battle for justice and freedom against brutal dictators in a variety of country. Brother Claude Lacaille, a Quebec priest, was at the forefront of this movement in Haiti, Ecuador, and Chile and his story is recounted in Rebel Priest in the Time of Tyrants.

Prof. Norman Cornett will lead a 3-part dialogic series with Lacaille on Sept. 14, 21, and 28, at 6:30 pm at Saint Columba House, 2365 Grand Trunk, near Charlevoix metro. $5 per session.
