New citizenship medal to honour D’Arcy-McGee activists

Residents of D’Arcy McGee riding will be eligible for a new award that recognizes outstanding work in the community.

Up to three citizens who live in Côte St. Luc, Hampstead and adjoining areas may be nominated by a riding resident. The first award winner is to be chosen on June 22, D’Arcy McGee MNA David Birnbaum has announced. Based on a single initiative or long-standing commitment, the winners will be chosen by former riding MNAs Victor Goldbloom, Herbert Marx, and Lawrence Bergman.

The application should include a short biography of the nominee, description of achievements, names of organizations that benefited from the candidate’s work, and at least one supporting letter or document. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 29, 2015 by 3 p.m.
