Letter to the Editor from “Mr. Academic”

Dear Kristine Berey,
As a regular reader of The Senior Times, I was surprised to see the wonderful article on my late Academic Bookstore in the May issue. May I be allowed to make two small corrections.
I was not in three locations but in six (five due to demolition – no compensation given – and another due to a fire in the basement restaurant in 1982.)
I also wish to “proclaim” that I was born before the Second World War (not the First World War).
The misunderstanding may well have been caused by my Germano, Franco, Anglo accent (British) in my talk at the Atwater Library.
I lived in Germany, France and England in my formative years.
— Yours, Gerald Glass
