A February fundraising dinner held in co-operation with not-for-profit restaurant Robin des Bois smelled and sounded great, thanks to Carmine Florist, which gave flowers to the ladies, and Rafael, a Dominican-Québécois singer who kept the evening hopping.
Also in attendance were Sun Youth executive director Sid Stevens; Villeray-St. Michel-Park Extension borough mayor Anie Samson; Montreal police chief Marc Parent; and others.
Robin des Bois founder Judy Servay presented Sun Youth with a $2,500 cheque, bringing the total raised during the dinner to $4,000.
This money will benefit Sun Youth’s heating assistance program, through which the organization helps clients reach payment agreements with Hydro-Québec when the clients’ service has been interrupted. The program also allows for free heating oil to be given to those in need, thanks to a longstanding partnership with the Quebec heating oil association.
