Be responsible about hazardous waste
Some waste is too hazardous even for the landfill. Simply tossing used batteries or old medication into the trash bin can have harmful effects on the environment.
In an effort to minimize the environmental damage done by such dangerous garbage, the Househould Hazardous Waste (HHW) Drop-Off invites residents of the C ôte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough to dispose of all potentially dangerous waste responsibly.
Items collected at the HHW Drop-Off include paint, batteries, aerosol cans, prescription and over-the-counter drugs, car batteries, fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent bulbs, propane tanks and chemicals.
The HHW Drop-Off takes place Saturday September 15 between 9 am and 5 pm in the parking lot of the Doug Harvey Arena, 4985 West Hill Ave.
Residents can also take their HHW year-round to the borough Eco-Centre at 6925 Côte-des-Neiges Rd.
