I am going out on a limb to play the devil’s advocate for a biblical female in praise of the female gender.

Women are by nature nurturers and can elicit high degrees of whatever they put their minds to. Our biblical Eve did not set out to exact God’s condemnation when she plucked the forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden and handed it to Adam. Eve was simply hungry.

We all know what hunger is. Most of us have experienced hunger to some degree. Imagine how a child feels when food is not available at home or at school. How can a student possibly absorb information when he or she hasn’t eaten enough? They should not have to fight to take food from their peers, or feel embarrassed.

This is why Generations Foundation offers breakfast foods, lunch and snacks at schools.

Our board members and volunteers tirelessly contribute their time to fundraise in addition to their other commitments, jobs and families.

In February, Enrica Uva organized a St. Valentine Gala with more than 500 guests. In April, Mary Maraj headed a team on the 5-21-kilometre Scotia Challenge to raise funds for the children’s programs.

This month, Marie-Josée Mastromonaco chairs a benefit gala with 500 dignitaries.

At our Buffet La Stanza Breakfast, a Generations Foundation team of women (and men) brings together entrepreneurs, professionals, parents and children for a fabulous feast with as “raison d’être” that children will not go hungry when Generations Foundation comes knocking.
