To the delight of her fans, Toronto-based Fern Lindzon, a double threat as accomplished vocalist and pianist, returns to Montreal Oct. 20 for a one-night stand at Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill.

She’ll perform tunes from her latest CD, Mostly Monk compositions with lyrics added, and favourites from her three previous CDs, including songs by Gesmonti, Jobim, new Yiddish music, and some standards.

It’s the concluding session of a mini-tour, and features Joel Kerr on bass. Upstairs is at 1254 Mackay and the first of three sets is at 8 pm, Tickets cost $7, and there is no cover for the 10:30pm set. 514-931-6808.
