Bill Taylor became Man of the Year at a presentation at the Côte St. Luc Senior Men’s Club last month.

Lawrence Bergman, MNA for D’Arcy McGee, thanked Taylor for his accomplishments and dedication to getting the best and most interesting speakers for the club. Bergman was that week’s guest speaker.

After eight years as the club’s program chairman, Taylor said, “It was a tough job, but, I did it.”

Another speaker this summer was Christine McDowell, author of You’re Not Broken. She discussed harnessing one’s inner power under the theme “do for yourself before you do for others.” She emphasized that age is irrelevant, because the day you stop learning is the day you die spiritually.

“First of all, love yourself.  When you love yourself, you give yourself permission to go out and play. … Don’t shut  the door on yourself.

“Don’t be afraid to change your socks. Maybe the thought of change will work its way up to your head.”
