Even to call this a run is misleading: for many of us doing the race, the best that can be achieved is a steady walking pace up the slope and a cautious slow jog on the way down.
Being on a ski hill on a nice summer day sounds idyllic until you realize you’re not there for the scenery but to complete a potentially gruelling five to seven kilometer run, up and down the hill and complete the obstacles, many of which will be located in mud.
I am at the midpoint in my training towards the five-kilometre Spartan Race and its 20 or so obstacles with my daughter Bryn.
