The Artists’ Circle of the West Island’s annual exhibition and sale continues until May 27 at Art Premier, 1385 Notre Dame in Lachine. It’s open to the public Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Part of the proceeds is donated to local charities.
The circle began in 1981 as a way of combining fellowships and a learning experience for local artists. It is based in Pierrefonds and meets monthly from September to May.
It presents visiting artists, workshops, and discussions, and encourages self-critique.
Participating artists range in skill level from amateur to professional. All artists, whatever their talent or ability, are encouraged to join and improve their work.
